New V3 Grant Criteria In Effect!

New developments to the Veterans Employment Grant have made it easier for V3 companies to qualify for up to $10,000!  During this General Assembly session, legislators made some changes to the criteria for the grant fund retrospective to July 1, 2016.

You are receiving this message because you are a point of contact for either a V3 enrolled or V3 certified business. Small and medium sized V3 certified businesses (300 employees or fewer) can be awarded $1,000 per Veteran hired and retained for at least one year (10 Veteran hires/awards maximum per company).

Important updates to the grant criteria include:

  • Eliminating the prevailing average wage criteria completely.
  • Increasing the length of time from discharge for the transitioning service member from one year to five years.  In other words, the service member must be employed within five years of discharge from active duty instead of only one year.
  • Again, these changes are being applied retroactively to qualifying grant applications for FY 2016 and going forward into FY 2017.

This means that the prevailing average wage standard is not applied at all during the application process; therefore, the Veteran employee can be hired at any wage, provided they are employed in a full-time capacity. And Veterans/ transitioning service members hired with your company within five years of their discharge dates are eligible for consideration.

THESE CHANGES HAVE TAKEN EFFECT NOW THAT THE BUDGET HAS BEEN SIGNED BY GOV. MCAULIFFE (MAY 20TH).

We are prepared to accept applications that meet these criteria!
