Legion to Hold 100th Anniversary Workshop at Convention
INDIANAPOLIS (July 11, 2014) – Preparing for the celebration of the centennial of the nation’s preeminent veterans service organization in 2019 is an undertaking already well underway. From The American Legion’s National 100th Anniversary Committee to the planning committee at every post, there are countless activities, promotions, events, and remembrance memorabilia in development.
A 100th Anniversary Workshop will be held Monday, Aug. 25th, from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. during the 96th National Convention at the Charlotte Convention Center, Room 203, Sections A & B, Ballroom Level. All Legionnaires and Legion family members are invited to learn the planning strategies and timelines that will ensure a successful and highly publicized centennial celebration by posts across America.
The American Legion Magazine booth in the exhibit hall will demonstrate The American Legion’s 100th Anniversary website, where posts can share their histories and visions for the future. Printed guides and other materials related to the Legion’s plans for the centennial will be available at the booth.
The workshop is free and pre-registration is not required.
