During the last Government Shutdown there were Legionnaires all over Virginia doing their part to support Coast Guard and other Veterans who were furloughed or unpaid during this time. Post 290 was one of the Posts who held a special dinner on January 24, 2019 to help those Veterans and Government Employees impacted by the shutdown.
Legionnaire Rick Schultz of Post 290 (a local Stafford businessman) took four days off to organize and execute the dinner event. Rick was recognized during the 16th District Spring Conference for his superior efforts going above and beyond to support Veterans and their families.
Rick was recognized by Department of Virginia Vice Commander Joe Dudley and 16th District Commander Sonie Dickerson for his efforts in chairing this highly successful event. Bravo Zulu to Rick Schultz and Post 290 for their superior efforts.
