The “Motor Vehicle Property Tax Exemption for Disabled Veterans” Amendment exempts totally-disabled veterans from property taxes on one vehicle effective Jan 1, 2021. With the amendment passed, it will give veterans who have “a 100% service-connected, permanent, and total disability” tax exemption for one vehicle. A veteran’s disability rating is determined by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
Eligible Veterans will need to contact their county tax authority for the application forms and procedures. Each county/city will have a unique form and process, so there is no statewide application process.
